Although mission is a lifestyle that we strive to live every day within our homes, communities and workplaces, the following are just a few of the significant relationships that we have made in effort to be a resource to the community locally, as well as a messenger and servant to the community globally. Come and join this exciting journey with us!
We deeply believe in the mission of the Katy Pregnancy Help Center. As a church body, we have painted, pulled weeds, raised funds, volunteered our time and will continue to give of our lives in an effort to support the mission of PHC and the impact they have on the city of Katy, Texas.
Even within the first few months of establishing Crossings in 2007, we began working with the local Sudanese population through a incredible organization called Every Villiage. We have served them through various lifestyle classes and taught them basic computer skills to better equip them in the job application process. It has also been a joy to help these families during the Christmas holidays.
We also enjoy doing many different local community events such as Christmas festivals, fall festivals and block parties. It is a great joy for our church to meet, serve and be blessing to the people that God has brought to live in our local community.
Globally, Crossings Community set foot on the other side of the world just seven months after we began worshiping as a church. God led us to establish a relationship with several different ministries in the Philippines, and we have a long-term strategy to aid a church planting ministry in the area surrounding the city of Dumaguete. We sent our second team during the summer of 2008 and saw a pastor training center built for the multiplication of churches throughout the area. We have sent many different packages of tools, clothing, and basic needs to our partners in and around Dumaguete City.
Through 2011 and 2012, we began researching to find another global partnership and have been led to Latin America. Our first research trip was taken in September 2012 and we are now anxiously anticipating an opportunity to take our first team to participate in this new ministry opportunity.
We have also developed a partnership with a family who works in Central Asia. This wonderful family lives in Katy when they are home in the United States, and often worships at Crossings Community. This family of five works among the Whitecap Muslims (a Sunni sect) where there are approximately one million people, yet only five who follow Jesus without a single gathering church present. Their God-given mission is to see the lives of the Whitecap Muslims transformed and churches multiplying. It is our joy to partner with them financially and prayerfully.
